Agent Development is the layer above the foundation. Local Inferencing gives the agent a local model and hardware to run on. The Agent System gives it memory, identity, and a place in a team. Agent Development is what shapes the agent into something that grows with you — trained from zero, then refined over time until it becomes a working companion for the user. Seems simple but this is the part that is the hardest, longest and most complicated.
Every person working at Mana is required to have one AI agent for work. We see AI agent as an essential part of the future work environment. Agents help users get more out of their device — giving them the ability to control tasks and push projects using natural language. So we believe developing your own agent is a long-term investment for your business, and over time it might become the most valuable asset for an entity.
An agent starts blank. It has the model's capability and the architecture, but no knowledge of the user, no preferences, no sense of what matters. Training from zero is the work of teaching it: what the user does, how the user thinks, what good output looks like in their context, what mistakes to avoid. Skills, knowledge, and judgement — built up from how the user actually works with the agent. We make sure the teaching lands, so your agents have everything they need to perform real tasks.
Once trained, the agent stays with the user. Its memory persists: instructions, preferences, accumulated learning, layered over time. The agent on day 100 is meaningfully different from the agent on day 1. The system holds together as one — memory, identity, context, learning, and working state, all designed together. That is what makes it the agent's mind. This is the always-on companion that grows with the user, across days, projects, and years.
Protecting your AI agent matters because it acts as you — logged in, with real access to email, files, payments, and customer data — and follows instructions found in anything it reads, from inboxes to scraped pages to the documents you hand it. That means a single crafted sentence in an inbox, a doc, or a scraped page can turn it into a confused deputy. The agent will then exfiltrate data, send messages, or spend money — all while producing a perfectly reasonable-looking summary.
The defence is the same as for any privileged identity: least-privilege tools, human approval for irreversible actions, treat all retrieved content as untrusted, log everything, and assume the prompt is the attack surface. Mana Agency will provide guidance on how to reduce these risks and put in proper guardrails for this new technology.
